Older services, reachable from modern applications

Many core systems still speak SOAP, use client certificates or only exchange files. We build connectors that handle these protocols and present the service as a clean REST API.

What is included

WSDL analysis
We read the WSDL and schemas and test each operation you need.
Certificates and WS-Security
We manage client certificates, signed messages and their renewal dates.
REST wrapper
A JSON API sits in front of the SOAP service, so your developers no longer handle XML.
Fault handling
SOAP faults and odd responses become clear error codes with useful messages.
File and database bridges
Where no API exists, we exchange data through SFTP, CSV, XML or controlled database access.
Caching and throttling
We protect slow or fragile back-ends from excess load.

How it works

Inventory. We collect WSDLs, credentials, certificates and sample messages.

What you receiveA list of operations, dependencies and known issues.

Prototype. We call the test service and record real requests and responses.

What you receiveA working proof for the most important operations.

Wrapper build. We implement the REST layer, the field mapping and the error handling.

What you receiveA documented API and a test environment.

Run and maintain. We monitor availability and response times, and track certificate expiry.

What you receiveAlerts before certificates expire and a log of all calls.

Right for you if

A supplier, bank or public service only offers SOAP.

Your developers avoid a system because it is hard to call.

Certificate renewals have caused outages before.

Questions

Does the original system need to change?

No. The connector sits in front of it and uses the interface it already has.

Which SOAP versions do you support?

SOAP 1.1 and 1.2, including WS-Security with signed or encrypted messages.

Where are the certificates stored?

On our servers, with access limited to the connector process. Every renewal is logged.

Can this be a step toward replacing the old system?

Yes. Once applications use the REST API, the back-end can be replaced without changing them.
